  • Dr. Ariel Ortiz Lagardere, MD, FACS, FASMBS — Director, Obesity Control Center, Tijuana, Mexico. Board-certified surgeon with more than 25 years of bariatric and metabolic surgery experience and contributions to peer-reviewed literature.

Scope of review

  • Accuracy of statements about anatomy, physiology, and procedures.
  • Appropriate framing of risks alongside potential benefits.
  • Clear distinction between regulatory authorization and clinical-outcome claims.
  • Avoidance of cure claims, guaranteed outcomes, and unrealistic transformation statements.
  • Alignment with ASMBS, IFSO, ADA, AACE, and FDA documentation.

Review cadence

Each page is reviewed at least every six months. Pages are also reviewed when major new guidelines, trials, or regulatory updates are released. The date of the most recent review is shown on every page.

Conflict of interest

Diabetes Magna Plus™ is affiliated with the Obesity Control Center, which actively offers bariatric and metabolic procedures including those using the MagDI™ device. This affiliation is disclosed. Medical reviewers are clinicians, not marketers, and the editorial process is designed to keep clinical accuracy independent of marketing copy.
