Credentials that matter
- Board certification in general surgery (or equivalent in country)
- Fellowship or documented experience in bariatric / metabolic surgery
- Active membership in ASMBS, IFSO, or a comparable society
- Facility accreditation (JCI internationally, MBSAQIP in the U.S.)

- What are the program's published complication and readmission rates?
- Who provides long-term follow-up, and for how long?
- What is included in the quoted price — and what is not?
